DUAL TVET
Dual TVET stands for Dual Technical and Vocational Education and Training. It is a TVET educational
approach that combines theoretical classroom instructions practical workplace training. In Dual TVET,
students acquire knowledge and skills through a combination of classroom based learning and hands - on experience.

The Dual TVET approach aims to bridge the gap between education and labour market by providing
students with relevant skills. Students spend atleast 50% of their training program duration in the
industry and the remaining 50% in college. Benefits of Dual Training include:

High employability skills

Certification from TVET CDACC

Short duration of learning

Kenya Government through the Ministry of Education, State Department of TVET has provided enabling
environment for Dual TVET in all the technical colleges. Ugenya Technical and Vocational College is not
left behind and has selected the following courses for Dual Program:

1. Automotive technician level 5.
2. Hairdressing and beauty therapy level 5
3. Refregiration and air conditioning level 5
